Abita Purple Haze

Not too fruity, not too wheaty. Pleasant taste; a good way to beat the heat.

A pleasant surprise for an unfiltered wheat beer, although aftertaste coats the tongue making it not a good session beer.

I don't like it. This is an example of Fruit first Beer Last (using Dark Horse Breweries' Raspberry Ale as an example of the opposite). Dont do it unless you like fruity but not so much beer. Better than Bud?.

Lots of carbonation with wheat and raspberry flavor. If it weren't for the wheat peaking through the raspberry, I'd think this was a fruity mineral water instead of beer. Looks like a wheat beer with very fine lacing on the head. Trouble is it doesn't smell or taste much like beer.

A great wheat beer with th essence of raspberry without too much sugar or fruit to overwhelm the ber flavor.

Very sweet for a beer. Not as much voodoo as turbo dog.

OK so I'm a sucker for raspberry beer. This is a awesome beer, especially on a hot summer day. If you can find it on tap it's even better. Try my favorite dessert, a black and tan made with Purple Haze and Young's Double Chocolate Stout.
