Deep amber in color with a rich malty aroma, and delicately spiced with smoked Jalapeno peppers to give it that extra bite!
This was really good....very spicy but very smooth. A very unique brew - I've never had another beer like it. Not something I'd drink alot of and probably not very often, but I'll definitely have it again.
not spicy like i figured it would be but just the nice smoky pepper flavor came out of this tasty treat. tasted from a friends bottle but would try again on my own
i once said (in my typically cynical way) "oh what's next? they'll NEVER make a beer with hot pepper in it." oh how wrong i was. but this beer is delicious. to me, it seems like a lager at first sip. but it's so much more, and at the end you will taste the sting of the smoked jalapeno (chipotle). some people may be grossed out by it, but it's so different that i can't help but love it.
This sounds like a goofy combination--and it probably is--but I tried it anyway and found it surprisingly enjoyable. Do not mistake this for that Cave Creek Chili Beer, which is but a novelty in my book.
Strange, The chipotle pepper is barely present. I'm not sure if I like this or not. I might try it again.
Tastes like a decent ale until the finish, when the spicy flavor of the peppers kicks in. Different enough for anyone to want to try.
First you taste the smoke, which I like..but then the spice slowly creeps up..starting w/ a tingle in the throat. Good taste and certainly diffrent, but it was just a little too much bite [and by bite I mean..chipotle..goin' to action] for me to drink a full pint. Worth tasting though, for sure.
