This was my first taste of what the wonderful country of Belgium has to offer, and that's why it will always hold a special place as one of my all-time favorites. The initial taste reminds me of champagne and it is sweeter and more carbonated than you'd expect. Once you get past the first sip, the beer gets more complex. Now that I know more about beer, I would certainly put other Belgian strong ales ahead of this one, but anyone who considers Miller High Life as the "Champagne of Beers" has never tried Delirium Tremens or anything decent for that matter.
